Built In 1896 And Destroyed In 1907
Dubbed the “Gingerbread Palace,” this seven-story Victorian chateau overlooked the ocean. It survived the 1906 earthquake unscathed.
A 1907 fire reduced it to ashes, ending its brief but memorable tenure as a San Francisco landmark.
