Face Bank
Face Bank was a piggy bank with a twist: it had a realistic human face that “ate” coins by opening its mouth and moving its jaw. While innovative, the bank’s lifelike eyes and slow, gaping movements were disturbing to many children.
Instead of saving money cheerfully, kids found themselves feeding change to a blinking, slack-jawed face that resembled a creature more than a toy. It became infamous as nightmare fuel, a strange mix of utility and uncanny valley creepiness.
