Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge (Ireland)

The Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is located in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. It’s 20 meters long and sits about 30 meters (roughly the height of a 9-story building) above the rocks. This bridge is a popular tourist attraction, drawing around 200,000 visitors annually, with approximately 480,000 visiting in 2018.

The bridge was originally used by salmon fishermen, who reportedly caught 300 salmon a day in the 1960s. However, by 2002, they were only catching about 300 salmon in an entire season, and it’s no longer in use for fishing. Weather permitting, it’s generally open year-round, and you can cross it for a fee.
