Sidu River Bridge (China)

The Sidu River Bridge, on the other hand, was the first extra-large suspension bridge built in the mountainous region of China. It stretches 1365 meters in length, with a height from the ground equivalent to a 200-story building. Its construction involved an astonishing method of initially using rockets to send cables across to the other side. While helicopters might seem more efficient, the location made that impossible.

The advantage of this construction method is that it eliminates the cost of using helicopters and saves time. It was able to cross to the other side in just 3.6 seconds. This innovative approach has added a new chapter to the global history of bridge construction. And the natural grandeur of China further enhances the comfort of driving with the car windows wide open.
