# 18. F2: Rename Files and Folders Instantly
Right-clicking a file and choosing “Rename” every single time slows you down when organizing photos, documents, or downloads.
Select any file or folder in File Explorer and press **F2**. The name becomes editable immediately — just type the new name and hit Enter. This small shortcut becomes addictive once you start using it and significantly speeds up file management tasks.
