35. The iArm
The iArm was a fake but successfully crowdfunded product—a forearm-mounted tray for holding your iPad, coffee mug, and remote control. Meant to parody tech obsession, it gained actual backing from people who either missed the joke or wanted to play along with it.
Eventually revealed to be satire, the iArm’s success showed how willing people are to fund even the most ludicrous ideas—especially if they look real enough. It blurred the line between prank and product, and its popularity proved that the weirder the idea, the more viral it can become.
