Staten Island Boat Graveyard
Did you know there’s a boat graveyard right in the heart of New York City? The Staten Island Boat Graveyard has been around since the 1930s. It wasn’t intended to be a graveyard; it was simply a salvage yard. It wasn’t very profitable, so it was abandoned. Over time, dozens of rusting ships were left to decay, becoming a sort of eerie maritime museum.
