A Startling Discovery

Martha was finishing up her evening chores when she noticed something squirming near the drain of her kitchen sink. At first glance, it looked like a small snake slithering through the leftover water. Fear gripped her instantly. Acting quickly, she slammed a drinking glass over it to keep it contained, then reached for the phone.
She called the local wildlife rescue, thinking it was a typical snake issue. When the vet arrived, he approached calmly, expecting a routine removal. But as soon as he peered under the glass, his expression changed completely. “That’s not a snake,” he said gravely, his voice low and shaky. “It’s something much worse.”
Vet’s Alarming Reaction

Confused and frightened, Martha stared at George, the veterinarian. “What do you mean it’s not a snake?” she asked, tightening her grip on the glass. The creature underneath wriggled more aggressively, and Martha’s hand shook slightly as she tried to keep it from escaping. She could feel the movement through the glass, making her pulse race.
George seemed unsettled, clearly struggling to find the right words. After a long pause, he turned without answering and pulled out his phone. “Keep your hand there,” he said abruptly, already walking toward the door. “Don’t let it move—I need to call someone immediately.”
